The highly acclaimed three-stage print is reproduced with two passes of oil-based rubber printing, recreating the same three-dimensional feel and luxurious volume as the original. The material used is 100% cotton, made from a blend of American cotton and open-end yarn. It is knitted with a structure of 14/- (open-end yarn) for the face yarn, 20/- (right-twisted) for the middle yarn, and 10/- for the back yarn. To maximize the volume of the back yarn, parts of the knitting machine were even modified. This achieves both a firm thickness and a fluffy back nap texture. The knitting machine's gauge was set to an original 12G, prioritizing the reproducibility of the surface after consulting with the knitter. Furthermore, proprietary needles were developed to bring the fabric texture as close as possible to the original.
Great attention was also paid to the napping process, using an American-style napping machine to create a back nap texture identical to vintage garments.
To achieve the "bone-dry fabric feel" characteristic of the era, the fabric undergoes a degreasing process after knitting, meticulously recreating the fabric's stiffness, stitch definition, and texture. The side panels feature flat seamer stitching, following vintage styles. To beautifully sew the degreased, stiff fabric, we partnered with a factory boasting high technical expertise. The coloring reproduces rare colors that were highly valued in the 90s.
The result is a color scheme that is classic yet feels fresh.
The quality of the fabric, knitting, sewing, and printing all go beyond mere "reproduction."
