The 2 Monkeys Sportif Bordeaux Vachetta [TM81935]

Vachetta leather is a leather made using traditional methods passed down in Tuscany, and its origins can be traced back to around 800 AD. The number 800 in the tanner's name is said to come from this history. It is made by tanning vegetable tannins and then infusing animal oils such as fish oil and neatsfoot oil to the core of the leather, making it supple and durable. Vachetta leather, made from adult cowhide, has a much thicker silver layer (a layer with high fiber density on the surface of the leather) than the classic sportif black French calf leather, and is a leather with strong tension.
We also adjusted the thickness of the leather for the shoes to be slightly thicker.
While the classic black calf sportif leather is soft and molds to your feet from the moment you put them on, this leather feels stiff when you first put them on, but because it is made from leather that has been saturated with oil, it will mold to your feet better the more you wear them.
This Vachetta leather is rich in oil and has a deep color. The embossed fine grain gives it a charm that is reminiscent of old-fashioned hand-kneaded leather. It is a pull-up leather (where the leather is pressed or pulled, the oil inside moves and the leather becomes lighter), so when you wear your boots and get wrinkles and marks, the color shadows will stand out and the leather will become more expressive. It is a leather that you can enjoy aging.
