The 2 Monkeys Sportif 2 Rio Negro [TM03933]

The SPORTIF-2 is a variation of our classic “SPORTIF” boots, with changes to the quarter and backstay designs.
Like the classic "Sportif," it combines Goodyear welting and McKay stitching to create a surprisingly light and nimble boot with a classic style and a cinched waist.

This season's model, the “Rio Negro,”

features embossed kip glass leather on the vamp and counter pocket, and snuffed grain leather (lightly buffed grain) dyed with oil and wax on the quarter. The sole, eyelets, and shoelaces are all black. Despite being all black, the boots have an exotic feel. Their rich texture pairs well with casual styles like denim and chinos, offering a different coordination option from the classic "Sportif."

The Rio Negro is a river that flows from Colombia to the border with Venezuela and joins the Amazon River in Brazil. Most of its basin is covered by the Amazon rainforest. The river's water is black due to organic matter derived from plant tannins dissolved in it, hence its name Rio Negro, which means "black river" in Spanish and Portuguese. Imagining the black waters of the Rio Negro and the various reptiles inhabiting the rainforests on its banks, we named this season's SPORTIF-2 "Rio Negro."
