The 2 Monkeys Highlander Vest [TM11552]

Sleeveless vests (*vests before that had sleeves) became popular in Western Europe around the mid-18th century and were widely worn from courts to the military.
When vests first lost their sleeves, they were long, and in the military, for example, belts were worn over vests from which pouches and other items were hung.
The Highland Vest expresses this style of vest from that era by adding belt loops above the waist of the vest and threading a drawstring of the same fabric through them.
We made a light vest for spring/summer wear using a cotton-linen fabric with woven stripes, unlined.
