A pair of French overalls from the early 20th century with a large buttoned pocket on the apron.The style has been recreated with The 2 Monkeys' original discharge-dyed dot fabric, reminiscent of fabrics from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It has a loose fit that can be worn over pants. The original fabric is a twill weave with charcoal sulfur dyed dots arranged in a grid pattern, which are discharge-dyed. The color fades with wear, improving the texture.
As for who first created overalls, some say it was Levi's, while others say it was the Frenchman Lafont. In France, early overalls were called Pantalon à bavette (which translates to apron-front pants or bib-front pants in English), hence the name Bavette Overalls.
