The 2 Monkeys Artisan Shirts【TM81130】

From the Middle Ages until around the end of the 18th century (1800), men's shirts were considered underwear.
Perhaps for this reason, there were few design variations, typically featuring a large body and wide sleeves gathered at the neckline and cuffs.
To minimize fabric waste and sewing, the front and back body were made from a single piece of fabric.
When knitted underwear became widespread in the 19th century, shirts began to evolve closer to their modern form, but many from this era still retained their earlier appearance. The Two Monkeys Artisan Shirt is designed based on shirts from that period.
Following the practice of old shirts, the front and back body are cut as one piece, but gussets are added to the shoulders to conform to the body's lines.
The wide body is gathered at the neckline with modest gathers and tucks, and the wide sleeves are also gathered into cuffs.
Rather than the pullover style common at the time, it features a full-button front and a length that is easy to wear.
It has been arranged to be easily matched with modern styles while retaining the taste of the era.
Gathers and tucks are added to the front neckline, and gathers to the back. As the fabric softens, the body will drape beautifully.
