The 2 Monkeys Artisan Shirts【TM81130】

From the Middle Ages until the end of the 18th century (around 1800), men's shirts were underwear.
Perhaps because of this, there are few design variations and the garments tend to have large bodies and thick sleeves that are gathered at the collar and cuffs.
The body is made from one continuous piece of fabric on the front and back to ensure that no fabric is wasted and with minimal sewing.
In the 19th century, as knitted underwear became more widespread, shirts began to evolve and became closer to their modern forms, but many shirts from this period still retained their earlier appearance. The 2 Monkeys' artisan shirts are designed based on shirts from that era.
Like old shirts, the front and back are cut from a single piece, but gussets have been added to the shoulders to fit the contours of the body.
The wide body is gathered at the collar with modest gathers and tucks, and the thick sleeves are gathered and held in place at the cuffs.
Instead of the pullover type that was common at the time, this one opens at the front and is a comfortable length.
While retaining the taste of the era, we have arranged it so that it can easily be matched with modern styles.
The front collar has gathers and tucks, and the back has gathers. As the fabric becomes more comfortable, the body will drape.
