JELADO × COLIMBO Sundowners Jacket AL-1 Custom [CT13412B]

The 2025 collection theme, "THE CREAM OF THE CACHE," is a coined term meaning "the finest collection." Throughout the year, JELADO will recreate carefully selected vintage items to create a more refined collection. This year, as part of a collaboration with COLIMBO, which continues to be popular every year, the brand releases the SUNDOWNERS JKT, based on the AL-1. Inspired by the image of the suit issued to the 1942th Fighter Squadron, established in 11, during the Korean War, the functional beauty of military wear has been further elevated. The AL-1 is a next-generation flight suit system developed by the U.S. Navy shortly after the end of World War II. By combining a wool inner with an alpaca-lined jacket, rather than using natural leather or mouton, it is possible to adapt to a wide range of temperatures while also improving maintenance. The supple fabric does not restrict pilot movement, and the alpaca/wool pile, which has a proven track record in the Navy, is used. Features include rider-style cuff zippers and ribbed pockets that double as hand warmers, all of which are reminiscent of military wear of the same era.
The details that stand out even amongst AL-1 wear can be seen everywhere. This product has improved on the thin outer shell, which was a challenge for the original, and now uses highly durable cotton twill. The olive color of the LASTRESORT brown tag is used for the fabric, and the collar, reminiscent of a pea coat, has been interlininged, faithfully recreating the three-dimensional silhouette unique to the AL-822. In addition, the lining is equipped with a built-in waist adjuster, allowing for adjustment of the silhouette when worn. As a custom specification, stencil prints are applied to the front left chest and back, and the design is based on the wear of the crew of the Naval Air Transport Service's (NATS) flagship flying boat, "JRM-MARS" No. XNUMX.
This jacket is inspired by the history of NATS, which became a research unit for new transportation systems after the end of the war, and is based on one of the four aircraft in the series known as the Marshall Mars.
