The 2025 collection theme, "THE CREAM OF THE CACHE," is a coinage meaning "the best collection." Throughout this year, JELADO will reproduce carefully selected vintage items and develop a more sophisticated collection. As a popular annual collaboration with COLIMBO, this year we are releasing the SUNDOWNERS JKT, based on the AL-1. With the background image of the unit established in 1942 as the 11th Fighter Squadron and issued during the Korean War, we have further elevated the functional beauty of military wear. The AL-1 was a next-generation flight suit system developed by the US Navy immediately after the end of WWII. Without using natural leather or sheepskin, it combined a wool inner and an alpaca-lined jacket to accommodate a wide range of temperatures while improving maintainability. Flexible fabric that does not hinder the pilot's movement was combined with alpaca/wool pile, which had a proven track record in the Navy. Outstanding details not found in other military wear of the same era are seen throughout, such as zipper cuffs like those on rider jackets and ribbed pockets that also function as hand warmers. For this product, the thin outer shell, which was a challenge of the original, has been improved, and durable cotton twill has been adopted. The fabric uses the olive color of the LASTRESORT brown tag, and interlining is inserted into the collar, reminiscent of a P-coat, faithfully reproducing the unique three-dimensional silhouette of the AL-1. Furthermore, a built-in waist adjuster is equipped on the lining side, allowing for silhouette adjustment when worn. For the custom specification, stencil prints are applied to the front left chest and back, inspired by the crew of aircraft No. 822 of the "JRM-MARS," the main flying boat of the Naval Air Transport Service (NATS). Against the backdrop of the history of NATS, which became a research unit for new transportation systems after the end of the war, one of the four aircraft in the series known as the Marshall Mars is used as a motif.
