The 2025 collection theme, "THE CREAM OF THE CACHE," is a coined term meaning "the finest collection." Throughout the year, JELADO will recreate vintage items selected from its treasured collection. This year, as part of its annual collaboration with COLIMBO, the brand will launch the SUNDOWNERS JKT. The name is inspired by a fictional story about a unit established in 1942 as the 11th Fighter Squadron and issued with the jacket during the Korean War. This model is based on the next-generation flight garment "AL-2 (1J55)," developed by the U.S. Navy shortly after the end of World War II. Its design has been refined to a more functional level, eliminating the use of natural leather and mouton. The flexible fabric allows for unrestricted pilot movement, while the Navy-proven alpaca/wool pile lining ensures excellent warmth. Features such as rider-style cuff zippers and ribbed pockets make this jacket stand out among contemporary military wear. To improve the durability of the outer shell, a challenge in the original design, the jacket was crafted from LASTRESORT brown leather.
This item is made from durable cotton twill in the olive color of the tag. The collar, reminiscent of the lapels of a pea coat, is interlininged to recreate the distinctive puffy notch lapel. The lining also features a built-in waist adjuster, showcasing meticulous attention to detail. Combining the functional beauty of vintage military style with JELADO's unique modern perspective, this is a piece truly worthy of "THE CREAM OF THE CACHE."
