Steelbeam Coat [AG11406]

Our collection theme for the season is "THE CREAM OF THE CACHE." While this is a coined phrase, it signifies our "absolute finest selection." For this lineup, we spent an entire year meticulously recreating the absolute greatest vintage pieces extracted straight from JELADO’s most prized private archives. As a truly exceptional centerpiece for this release, we followed the blueprint of an ultra-rare pre-1920s Sweet-Orr asymmetrical pocket chore coat from our long-term archives, reconstructing it using a special indigo Wabash stripe fabric derived from our signature LAST RESORT Blue Tag lineage.

This chore coat utilizes a distinct left-hand twill textile woven with three different thread weights in the warp, with both the warp and weft completely rope-dyed in deep indigo. To capture a profound vintage character, we accurately recreated the Wabash stripe pattern sampled directly from our archival vintage piece via a meticulous discharge-printing technique. By faithfully honoring the exact stripe spacing and dot sizes of the original mid-century artifact, we have delivered a highly unique material profile unlike anything else on the market.

On the reverse side of the denim, we applied a custom pigment print to certify the fabric's original development while adding an extra layer of texturing. The hardware is equally uncompromising, featuring proprietary iron change buttons across the main front closure and period-accurate donut-shaped tack buttons on the cuffs. Compared to our previous iterations, we increased the overall fabric allowance to achieve a slightly more relaxed, easy-wearing fit. This updated silhouette prioritizes the authentic drape of classic labor wear, pairing beautifully with the rugged character of the textile to elevate the vintage finish.

Loaded with historically significant design features - including the signature Sweet-Orr asymmetrical watch pocket geometry and oversized lower patch pockets - this garment is an absolute dream piece for vintage enthusiasts.
