After roughly five years of work, we have completed this wartime model featuring a gold tag, the pinnacle of LASTRESORT DENIM. This piece was created in accordance with "L-5," a material control ordinance issued by the WPB (War Production Board) in August 1942, based on the possibility that factories at the time produced "Simplified Models." We analyzed our own deadstock denim and obtained material data from a national testing agency. Based on these data, we adjusted the yarn twist and number of threads, and recreated it using the oldest surviving loom, the TOYODA G8.
The fabric is made from 100% American Deep South cotton, with three counts (6, 7, and 8) randomly arranged. This creates the irregular fading characteristic of vintage denim. The weft is made from the finest extra-long staple cotton (38mm long).Spingold SupremeMu"use.
The rope dyeing process uses a deep, pure indigo dyeing technique based on deadstock, and the fabric is woven on a TOYODA G3 loom with a 68 warp and 47 weft thread count, resulting in a supple, smooth fit. The design is based on an early S506XX model owned by our company, faithfully recreating the feel of the wartime models of the time. It features the engraved accessories found on the regular line, and the pockets lack flaps, following the simple specifications of the first model. Based on the concept of reusing stock rivets from the 1s, we created custom rivets with a lowercase "o" in "JELADO Co." The buckle is also a replica of a 30s buckle, finished in iron.
Additionally, some of the double stitching features rainbow stitching, recreating the look of vintage pieces. The more you wear it, the deeper the color fades, creating a unique texture that can't be achieved with a single wash. Born from analysis of deadstock, this is the pinnacle of denim jackets that can be recreated in modern times. Experience this ultimate piece for yourself.
