After about five years of work, a wartime model using LASTRESORT DENIM's highest quality "Gold Tag" has been completed. This work is based on the "L-181" ordinance issued by the WPB (War Production Board) in August 1942 for the purpose of controlling materials, and is based on the assumption that all factories produced "simplified models," recreating a vintage atmosphere, including parts that are not visible in the data. The fabric used in this work is 100% American Deep South cotton, and uses three counts - 6, 7, and 8 - to create a subtle unevenness. The weft thread is made of the finest extra-long staple cotton, 38mm long.Spingold SupremeMuWe used a deep pure indigo rope dye, achieving a color and texture faithful to the original. The TOYODA G3 loom uses 68 warp and 47 weft threads for a precise finish. The design is based on our own early S501XX model, recreating the engraved accessories. The back pocket features a simple design without decorative stitching, achieving the utmost faithful reproduction. We reused stock rivets from the 30s and created custom rivets with a lowercase "o" in "JELADO Co." Details unique to wartime models, such as the raw edge on the front and thick belt loops, have also been meticulously recreated. The silhouette features clean lines similar to those of the black tag, allowing for enjoyable irregular fading that develops with wear. The suppleness and softness, not achieved with a single wash, further enhances the patina over time. Gerard's "Gold Tag" is made from the finest denim available today in pursuit of the finest vintage denim, and is sure to become an essential item for denim lovers.
