This A-1940 is based on the A-2 made by Rough Wear, a contractor in the 2s, but has a more stylish design.
This time, the car is based on a model delivered in late 1941 and uses horsehide with a vegetable tanned aniline finish.
The material is 1.2mm to 1.3mm thick horsehide.
In order to reproduce the deep dark brown color that was present on the actual item at the time, a purple dye is applied to the base, and then a deep dark brown is applied on top to create the same dark seal brown color as the vintage item.
The leather has the unique firmness and flexibility that is characteristic of Rainbow Country leather, as well as a moderate luster.
