The Paperboy Satchel is a well-worn, heavy-duty duffel bag that was disassembled and reassembled, and repurposed for a modern lifestyle. Its roots lie in the shoulder bags used by young newspaper delivery boys in America in the early 20th century. Its thick canvas and large capacity design were designed to withstand the tough work of racing through the streets, while protecting newspapers from the wind and rain. The "Paparboy Satchel" is a minimalist reconstruction of a vintage Duffie Bag, making the most of it. The original opening has been made functional into a flap. The wide straps are made from a different vintage fabric, evoking the image of the Paperboy Satchel. The design is reminiscent of a modern Messenger Bag. The upper left is a vintage mailing bag used in gardens by postal agencies such as the United States Postal Service (USPS) to transport domestic mail. The thick khaki canvas in the lower left is probably a barracks bag used by the US military in the early stages of WWII.
