Monkey Trousers [CT11344]

The theme for the 2025 collection is "THE CREAM OF THE CACHE." This is a coined phrase meaning "the finest collection." This year, we have carefully selected items from JELADO's treasured collection and will be reproducing the best vintage items throughout the year.
As one of the highlights of this collection, we have created a piece based on the USMC (United States Marine Corps) M-44 Monkey Pants, which are currently experiencing a surge in market value.
The M-44 Monkey Pants were developed in 1944, towards the end of World War II, and are highly appealing due to their unique design and functionality. Also known as "Monkey Pants," their production period was very short, from July 1944 to around October 1945. They were issued to the US Marine Corps, a small elite force, resulting in a low overall production number and making them highly rare. These pants were designed for field use, emphasizing ease of movement when crawling or assuming a forward-leaning posture. A particularly distinctive feature is the large pocket placed on the back, created to store rations and grenades. The material used this time is a specially dyed herringbone twill, also used in CM47. Herringbone is a durable fabric with prominent ridges created by varying the twist of the yarn. We used vat dyes to faithfully reproduce the colors from vintage items. As you wear them, the color will fade, allowing you to enjoy the rich aging process characteristic of vintage items. Furthermore, we used iron buttons with a dome-shaped foot to enhance the vintage feel.
