I heard that the inspiration for this pattern came from a single photograph.
Considering if surfer photos could be used for something, several were picked out.
Out of those, four were chosen, silhouetted in black, and sketches were then made from them.
Initially, the side-by-side arrangement was too ordinary, so a request was made based on a comment from KC of Kona Bay Hawaii to have it "flow from top to bottom like a river."

The image was inspired by Endless Summer and the Gauguin woodcut on vintage Aloha shirts.
The color scheme is almost identical to the Gauguin woodcut. Green and orange were used, with gray to subdue them slightly. While the fabric looked quite flashy, it became incredibly stylish as a shirt.
A design quite different from previous Kona Bay Hawaii creations was completed.
I want to pair it with dark indigo jeans.




The material is 100% rayon Fujiette fabric, made in Japan.
It is a top-quality fabric that offers excellent comfort.
The shirts are authentically Made in Hawaii, sewn in Hawaii.
