I heard that the inspiration for this pattern came from a single photograph.
I wondered if there were any photos of surfers I could use, and picked out a few.
He selected four of them, left them in black, and then created a sketch from them.
At first, the drawings were just side-by-side and too ordinary, so in the words of KC of Kona Bay Hawaii, they requested that the drawings be "from top to bottom, like a river flowing."

The image was inspired by Endless Summer and the Gauguin woodcut of vintage aloha shirts.
I used almost the same color scheme as the Gauguin Woodcut. I used gray to tone down the green and orange a little. It looked pretty flashy when it was just fabric, but it turned out really subdued when it was made into a shirt.
The result is something quite different from Kona Bay Hawaii's previous image.
I would like to match it with dark indigo jeans.




The material is a Japanese made Fujiet fabric that is 100% rayon.
It is made of the highest quality fabric and is extremely comfortable to wear.
This is an authentic Made in Hawaii aloha shirt, sewn in Hawaii.
