This 50's style open collar shirt is now enjoying consistent popularity in the American casual market.
We have been changing the fabric and pocket shape of WESTCOAST SHIRTS every time.
This time, we have reproduced a print design from a VINTAGE item that we have collected over the years and produced it in an original color.
The material is rayon twill, which is woven at a factory in Senshu, Osaka, and then transported to a factory in Shiga Prefecture for processing.
It is produced with warp threads 30/- x weft threads 30/- and a thread count of 120 x 74 threads.
The fabric is dyed on a roll at a factory in Kyoto, then moved to a printing factory where it is finished with discharge printing.
The printing method is called ground dye pigment discharge printing, in which the base color of the pattern area is removed after dyeing the original fabric, while the pigment color is applied to the pattern area.
Because the fabric is dyed, the color penetrates all the way to the lining, giving it a luxurious feel.
The rayon fabric is 145cm wide, and there are only a few factories in Japan that can do pigment discharge printing, making it an extremely rare and valuable fabric.
