The theme of the 2024 collection is "SPROUT." This theme is based on the name of the vintage shop that our CEO Goto started 20 years ago. The collection will look back on the items he collected back then and reissue them. With the help of Riding High, we have released WARM UP, an item that is synonymous with this theme. This sweatshirt, which we are releasing for the first time in a while, is knitted with 100% cotton American cotton blend air-spun yarn. The face yarn is 14/- (air-spun yarn), the middle yarn is 20/- (right-leaning), and the back yarn is 10/-. In order to create volume in the back yarn, a large amount of the back yarn needs to be pulled out, so we have modified the knitting machine parts. We focused on reproducing the surface of the knitting machine, so after talking with the knitter, we knitted with their original 12G gauge and used needles that we developed in-house. We also paid particular attention to how the fabric was brushed, using an American-style brushing machine to reproduce the same brushed fleece look as the vintage. In order to reproduce the dry, crisp feel of the fabric from that time, the fabric is degreased after knitting. We focused on reproducing the feel of the fabric from that time, and the quality is quite high, with the same stiffness of the fabric as the vintage and the texture of the knit on the surface. The side panels of this WARM UP are flat-seamed, like the vintage ones. We worked with a skilled factory that neatly sewed the stiff degreased fabric, which made this reproduction possible. We deliberately recreated the rare colors that were highly praised in the 90s. This season, we are proposing a combination of a big size, rare color reverse that I often wore in my 20s, and a 519.
