We have faithfully reproduced the wear and tear on a well-worn vintage print.
In normal flocking, a glue plate is rubbed, a raised sheet plate is attached on top of it, and then heat-pressed to complete the printing process, but for this print we have chosen a technique called faded flocking, which allows the print to look like it has aged over time from the very start.
First, the plate is rubbed with a water-based semi-rubber print, and then the paste plate is rubbed on top of it. Usually, the paste plate is placed on a sheet of flocking once it has completely dried, but this time, the artisan deliberately places the sheet of flocking on the plate when it is half dry, and then heat-presses it.
The initial semi-rubber print contains a fixer that makes it difficult for the print to adhere, causing the flocking to peel off in patches, giving the appearance of faded flocking that has been worn for many years.
