Introducing the new 6th Man from our BASIC COLLECTION.
This piece was designed to evoke the final gusseted sweatshirts of the 1960s, prior to the widespread adoption of V-neck styles.
It features a front V-stitch but is constructed with two-needle stitching.
Inspired by vintage cut-offs, we've arranged it as a 7-sleeved cut-off sweatshirt.
The fabric is 100% cotton loopwheel knit.
We use an unbrushed French terry, and to prevent skewing, the sides are seamed and sewn.
Due to their low productivity and high cost, loopwheel knitting machines are now rare, with only a few remaining in Wakayama, Japan. By slowly and carefully knitting without applying unnecessary tension to the yarn, we can achieve the natural texture and soft, fluffy feel of the yarn itself.
The outer jersey uses 30-count yarn, and the inner loop uses thick 10-count yarn, known as 30/10 French terry.
While higher numbers generally indicate thinner yarn, 30/10 French terry is a quintessential sweatshirt material that offers an ideal balance of thickness and softness, making it suitable for year-round wear.
The name "6th Man" refers to a substitute player in basketball who performs at the same level as a starter, symbolizing a garment that excels at all times.
