JELADO "EARLY AGE COLLECTION"
SUN DANCE
"THE CENTURIAL HISTORY OF JELADO"
Based on the fictional concept of "JELADO's 100-year history," we pursued American clothing from the past century in a way that is unique to JELADO.
Among these, the SUN DANCE shirt was created as one of the early catalog pieces for the "EARLY AGE COLLECTION."
The SUN DANCE is the first short-sleeved shirt released by COWBOY BRAND.
This piece was created using native pattern fabric while incorporating details from old work shirts predating the 1930s.
This time, we used 100% cotton native jacquard material.
By using native pattern fabric, the impression of a work shirt changes, and it is finished to give a nice summer vibe to a season that tends to be simple.
The buttons are engraved nut buttons with patterns, and it's full of rare details such as a chin strap at the neck and gussets at the hem.
The sewing specifications are fine, similar to those seen in old work shirts.
With its soft fabric, it's comfortable to wear and has a clean silhouette.
"Sun Dance" is an English translation of the Sioux word "wiwanyang wacipi" (dance looking at the sun). Plains tribes believed that if they died, they could go unconditionally to the "hunting paradise," and therefore, this life should be spent enjoying themselves. However, as "the power of nature declines if left alone," many Plains tribes, such as the Sioux, Blackfoot, Cheyenne, and Kiowa, perform the Sun Dance ritual around the summer solstice each year to pray for the recovery of nature and the prosperity of the tribe, making vows and offering prayers to the Great Spirit. This shirt represents the summer of Native Americans.
