This year, we once again commissioned a handler to create patches and embroidery using a 1950s hand-crank sewing machine, a SINGER 114K103, assembled in England. The patches are labor-intensive, made with a hand-crank machine, using a combination of chenille and chain embroidery. This time, we faithfully reproduced a 1940s ice rink team embroidery. A chenille patch has been made with the same design as the embroidery. As it is used, its luster will mellow, and it will age beautifully. The body uses the same popular material as last time, but with different color schemes. We use double-woven melton from Bishu, made of 90% wool and 10% nylon. By double-weaving it in a broken twill pattern, the weave is less visible, creating a luxurious and vintage feel. It is a labor-intensive material, produced through multiple processing steps, including fulling after weaving, double-sided napping, and a clear finish process that presses the fabric with rollers to give it firmness. The sleeves use supple and soft cowhide leather with enhanced grain. Similar to last year, we have expanded the range of motion to ensure no stress when worn, while still tailoring it into an outer shell with a silhouette suitable for adults.

By using beige melton and brown leather, we have created a simple varsity jacket that is more suitable for adults. The leather sleeves use 1.8mm cowhide, but are finished to be soft, causing no stress during movement.
