The 2025 collection theme, "THE CREAM OF THE CACHE," is a coined phrase meaning "the finest collection." It's a project where JELADO carefully selects treasured vintage items and spends a year recreating the pinnacle of those pieces. The SALEM VEST, released for the first time in six years, required a special reproduction of a super-vintage blanket fabric to revive the same pattern in multiple colors as previous works. The material used is a double-sided napped jacquard of 92% wool and 8% nylon, faithfully reproducing 1920s blanket fabric. The black-based color scheme, in particular, is a rare design almost impossible to find in the vintage market. The warp uses 40-count double-ply yarn of 100% Australian merino wool, employing a "level-up wool" specification to bring out the best in the yarn quality. The weft uses 5-count single-ply yarn of 90% wool and 10% nylon, achieving both strength and softness with the addition of nylon, while retaining the crispness and body similar to British wool. Woven by skilled artisans using a rare all-over jacquard loom in Japan, the fabric undergoes special napping and resin processing to achieve the unique texture of a blanket and a sponge-like softness. To align the patterns on both sides during cutting and sewing, the fabric consumption increases with larger sizes, making it a labor-intensive process. However, we prioritized pattern balance and a luxurious feel, resulting in an exquisite arrangement. Shell buttons are used to evoke the atmosphere and elegance of the pre-1920s era. This is truly the finest blanket vest, worthy of the name "THE CREAM OF THE CACHE," meticulously crafted down to the smallest detail.
