The annual staple indigo short-sleeved chambray shirt from the STANDARD COLLECTION is now available.
In an era where many workwear items with rare, eye-catching details are circulating, we tailored this short-sleeved shirt with a classic design from a realistic workwear perspective. However, it might be surprising, but original (vintage) short-sleeved chambray shirts are rarely seen. Most of them are long-sleeved shirts whose sleeves were cut by the buyer at the time (or later).
While many workwear brands existed in the 40s and 50s, only a handful produced short-sleeved chambray shirts. Therefore, while it is an orthodox item in terms of design, from a vintage clothing perspective, it is a highly valued and very appreciated item. This time, we have put together such an original short-sleeved chambray shirt in an orthodox manner, while incorporating robust workwear specifications. The collar has double stitching, the body seams have triple stitching, both sides of the body have gussets, and a union ticket is sewn on the inside of the left front hem. It features metal buttons, flap pockets on both chests, and red cotton thread for the bartacks. We deliberately avoided special details such as asymmetrical "gacha pockets" or "yama pockets," resulting in a realistic workwear item. The length is finished shorter to allow for a neat silhouette while maintaining room around the armholes.
While it covers the basics of workwear items, its simple specifications mean that not only those seeking a workwear style, but also those who want to enjoy it without being confined to a workwear style, can appreciate it. It can also be worn with shorts for a "casual holiday style" without feeling out of place.
