JELADO S/S Union Worker Shirt [JP82108]

Given the current abundance of workwear items with rare, eye-catching details, we designed this short-sleeved shirt with a classic design from a true workwear perspective.

However, you might be surprised to learn that original (vintage) short-sleeved chambray shirts are quite rare.

While numerous workwear brands existed in the 40s and 50s, only a handful produced short-sleeved chambray shirts.

You might occasionally come across long-sleeved shirts whose sleeves were cut by the original owner. Therefore, while the design is orthodox, from a vintage perspective, these items are highly valued and appreciated.

For this item, we've taken an orthodox approach to the original short-sleeved chambray shirt, incorporating robust, workwear-like specifications. The collar features double stitching, the body seams are triple-stitched, both sides of the body have gussets, and a union ticket is sewn to the back of the left front hem.

Flap pockets are placed on both chests, and red cotton thread is used for the bartacks.

This is a workwear item with a realistic perspective, intentionally refraining from special details such as asymmetrical "gacha-poke" or "yama-poke" pockets.

The length is finished shorter to allow for a clean silhouette while maintaining ample room around the armholes.

The warp is 100% cotton, and the weft is a yarn-dyed check fabric woven with a cotton-linen blend. We selected a crisp Madras check with a Ralph Lauren-esque color scheme seen in the early 80s to 90s.
