JELADO Rebel Jacket Horse Hide Semi Aniline Finish Black With Epaulets [SG83420]

We've finished this piece with a fit that considers the balance with the vintage aesthetic, focusing on items whose value will likely increase, treating vintage as an investment, and considering a more wearable silhouette. The base vintage item is a 2-Star rider's jacket made by Wind Word, a brand of Montgomery Ward.
The valuation of 1950s vintage items has risen dramatically, and we believe that 1950s leather jackets will attract even more attention in the future. Therefore, we changed the leather finish to one that allows for a greater enjoyment of the vintage feel. We faithfully reproduced the distinctive design with epaulets and two-star studs, and also enhanced warmth by lining it with quilted satin. The material used is 1.6mm thick horsehide, which has been combination (chrome and tannin) tanned. After dyeing the base a light brown, the leather is finished at a long-established Tokyo finishing factory by spray-dyeing with hill-dyeing, and then applying a thin layer of pigment. We chose a semi-aniline finish, considering the excellent atmosphere of vintage items and the aged look of vintage leather.

By applying a thin layer of pigment, the underlying color of the leather tends to show through more easily as the garment is worn and the areas under tension rub, creating a coloring effect. The softness of the combination tanning and the thin paint film make it comfortable to wear, and allows for a very rapid and enjoyable aging process.
