We envisioned VINTAGE as a stock market, focusing on items that are likely to increase in value in the future, and created a fit that balances the vintage feel with a more wearable silhouette. The base vintage piece is a 2-Star rider's jacket made by Wind Word, one of the brands of Montgomery Ward.
Currently, the value of 1950s vintage items has risen dramatically, and we believe that 1950s leather jackets will attract even more attention in the future. Therefore, we have changed the leather finish to one that allows you to enjoy the vintage feel even more. The distinctive design with epaulets and two star studs has been faithfully reproduced, and the lining has been made of quilted satin to enhance warmth. The material used is 1.6mm thick horsehide, which is combination (chrome x tannin) tanned, dyed light brown as a base, and then finished at a long-established finishing factory in Tokyo by spraying dye using the hill dyeing method, followed by a thin layer of pigment. We chose a semi-aniline finish to capture the good atmosphere of vintage leather and the look of aged vintage leather.

By applying a thin layer of pigment, the color is enhanced so that the underlying color becomes more visible as the garment is worn and subjected to more tension and friction. The combination tanning process results in a soft feel, and the thin coating makes it comfortable to wear, allowing you to enjoy a remarkably rapid aging process.
