For this item, we used a specially ordered 1950s-style slub tweed fabric.
It's a wool-cotton fabric made of 76% wool, 21% cotton, and 3% nylon.
The fabric is woven in a "bird's-eye" pattern, resembling a bird's eye, with kempy yarn of British wool and slub yarn intertwined with neps, creating a texture reminiscent of vintage fabrics from that era. Since the slub yarn is cotton-wrapped, the kempy yarn used is also cotton-wrapped and woven to maintain strength and tension, resulting in a more substantial and vintage-like finish.
By applying heat and fulling to the fabric to remove fluff and finishing it as a clear tweed without napping, we achieve a dry, vintage feel.

For the collar, cuffs, and pocket openings, we patterned a rare rib knit found in vintage pieces from that period, using 32-count double-ply hard-twist yarn made of 50% wool and 50% acrylic.
We were particular about the rib pattern, using an old-style rib knitting machine and hand-aligning the yarns to create the pattern, so the balance of the pattern is adjusted by skilled artisans.
The knitting method features red and beige threads within the vertical black threads of the half-cardigan stitch. When the rib is stretched during sewing, these colors appear as a horizontal stripe.
The lining is made of wine-colored cupro with quilted batting, providing excellent insulation.
The front zipper is a "WALDES" brand zipper.
The pockets feature acrylic boa hand warmers.
The waist can be adjusted with buttoned straps on the sides.
