The Firstmate Tee is released from the JELADO BASIC COLLECTION.
The BASIC COLLECTION is based on JELADO's core concept of "topping old favorites," where vintage items are replicated with new embellishments, designs, and size adjustments. It also updates previously released JELADO items by selecting fabrics and subsidiary materials appropriate for the season and making repeated minor modifications.

The body is made from 100% cotton, using 20/- yarn with a plating process.
Plating is a technique often used in knitting, where a second thread is passed through the back of the fabric, while maintaining the texture of the front, to add thickness to the material.
By using the same 20/- yarn for the backing thread, the fabric gains even more thickness.
The body is not tubular but features side seams; however, due to the thick fabric, it does not lose its shape.
This is a basic crew-neck style.
The neck rib is a binder neck, which makes it moderately resistant to stretching.

This time, the navy-inspired print is reproduced with flocky, just like vintage items.
Normally, flocky printing involves spreading glue, then heat-pressing a flocked sheet made of fabric onto it to complete the printing process. However, for this product, we chose a technique called "faded flocky" to create a print that already looks aged.
First, a semi-rubber water-based print is applied, and then a glue plate is spread over it.
Typically, the sheet flocky is placed on the glue plate after it has completely dried, but here, the sheet flocky is placed and heat-pressed by craftsmen at just the right semi-dry moment.
A fixative agent is added to the initial semi-rubber print to make it difficult for the flocky to adhere, resulting in a mottled peeling of the flocky, which creates the look of a faded flocky from years of wear.
