Firstmate Tee has been released from the JELADO BASIC COLLECTION.
The BASIC COLLECTION is a collection that follows the concept of topping off the good old things that are the foundation of JELADO, and while following the vintage style, not only does it add new decorations, designs, sizes, etc., but it also updates items previously released by JELADO by selecting fabrics and accessories that suit the season, making repeated minor adjustments.

The body is made of 100% cotton with a plating process using 20/- thread.
Plating is a technique often used in knitwear, which allows the fabric to have thickness by passing another thread through to the back while maintaining the texture of the front.
The same 20/- thread is used for the backing thread, giving the fabric more thickness.
The body is not round, but has side seams, but because the fabric is thick it does not lose its shape.

The neck is made with a binder rib, which means that the neck rib is moderately resistant to stretching.

The navy-inspired print on this item has been reproduced using flocking, just like the vintage one.
In normal flocking, a glue plate is rubbed, a raised sheet plate is attached on top of it, and then heat-pressed to complete the printing process, but for this print we have chosen a technique called faded flocking, which allows the print to look like it has aged over time from the very start.
First, the plate is rubbed with a water-based semi-rubber print, and then the paste plate is rubbed on top of it.
Usually, sheet flocking is applied to the paste plate once it has completely dried, but in this case, the craftsman deliberately applies the sheet flocking when the plate is only half dry, and then heat-presses it.
The initial semi-rubber print contains a fixer that makes it difficult for the print to adhere, causing the flocking to peel off in patches, giving the appearance of faded flocking that has been worn for many years.
