We thoroughly analyzed VINTAGE elements to create a new flannel shirt.

To reproduce the thick yet soft texture of flannel from before the 1950s, we thoroughly analyzed vintage flannel materials. Similar to Lee workwear, we aimed to develop a new flannel fabric by meticulously analyzing fiber length, twist coefficient, yarn count, and number of threads per inch. Representative brands with flannel materials from before the 1950s include Pilgrim, Winterking, and Kingkole; this time, we analyzed a Pilgrim flannel shirt. In the process, we focused on the difference in yarn count between the warp and weft, and the characteristics of the weft's thickness and thread count. We believe that the difference in yarn count (warp 16/1 x weft 3.5/1) and the low number of thick weft threads are factors that created the unique texture of flannel shirts from that era.
This flannel shirt is dyed with sulfide dyes. Although demand for sulfide dyeing has decreased in recent years and raw materials are also dwindling, we used this rare material to produce the flannel shirt. You can enjoy unique aging characteristics, such as color fading and a soft texture, with wear. The special fabric, which feels like being wrapped in a towel, will become addictive every time you wear it.
Using this ultimate flannel fabric, we tailored it into a simple work shirt from the same era. The pockets are flapless, allowing for vintage-like styling. The sizing is similar to our Union Worker Shirt Regular Length (standard flannel shirt) dimensions, further enhancing the vintage atmosphere.
