This is a DEAN release from BASIC COLLECTION.
We have released the Swing Top many times, but this is the first time we are sampling and releasing McGregor's Drizzler.
The DEAN name pays homage to the red drizzler worn by James Dean in his 50s film Rebel Without a Cause.
Instead of the nylon cotton material used in regular drizzlers, we use Ventile, which is woven at a higher density to create a natural luster, incorporating newness, toughness and luxury into the classic shape.
Ventile is an ultra-high density fabric developed as waterproof clothing for Royal Air Force pilots to protect their lives in cold seas.
Ventile is a 100% natural cotton fabric woven at an ultra-high density using some of the longest cotton fibers in the world.
Unlike artificial waterproof materials, this material combines a high density weave with the natural cotton fiber characteristic of "swelling when wet," and the fabric is also treated with a water-repellent finish during the dyeing process.
The biggest difference between this processing method and more common waterproofing methods such as coating or lamination is that it ensures water repellency while maintaining the natural breathability and feel of cotton fabric.
Another feature is that, unlike artificial materials, there is no rustling sound when the fabric rubs against something, and you can feel the casualness of natural fibers!
This material is woven domestically using 40/2 extra-long staple cotton in both the warp and weft directions to the maximum extent possible.
