From the BASIC COLLECTION, we are releasing the popular DEAN, which was well-received last year, in a new color. Named DEAN in homage to the red drizzler (actually an Antifreeze jacket) worn by James Dean in the 1950s in his代表作 'Rebel Without a Cause', this time we have specially created a color befitting the name Dean. Instead of the nylon-cotton material typically used for drizzlers, we've used Ventile, which creates a natural sheen through its high-density weave, incorporating novelty, durability, and a sense of luxury into a classic design. Ventile is an ultra-high-density woven fabric developed by the British Royal Air Force as a water-resistant garment, designed to protect pilots in cold sea conditions. Ventile is a 100% cotton natural material woven with the world's longest cotton fibers at an ultra-high density. Unlike artificial waterproof materials, it combines a high weave density with the characteristic of natural cotton fibers to swell when wet, and it also undergoes water-repellent treatment during the dyeing process. The biggest difference between this processing method and common coating or laminating waterproofing is that it maintains the natural breathability and feel of cotton while ensuring water repellency. Another feature is that, unlike artificial materials, it does not make a rustling sound when the fabric rubs, allowing you to enjoy the casual feel of natural fibers! This fabric, woven in Japan, is made with 40/2 extra-long staple cotton woven to its absolute limit in both warp and weft.
