JELADO Crow Gown [AG82429]

ANTIQUE GARMENTS has released the CROW line. It is named after a Native American tribe. The Crow tribe is said to have traded with white people, primarily for furs, but we named it CROW on the assumption that they might have also traded blankets woven by Native Americans.

This is an original blanket fabric that we have woven with all our heart. We use the only jacquard loom in Oshu, and use 1/2 worsted warp threads, with 48/1 weft threads coming out. By deliberately using fine worsted warp threads, the colored threads woven in the woolen weft threads can be seen on the surface, expressing the profound atmosphere of a native blanket. We repeatedly checked the beakers for the thread colors and tested color combinations to match the atmosphere of the pattern at the time, and it took us two years to put together the pattern. In order to bring out the pattern and texture of the weft thread, we consulted with the finishing factory and lightly milled it (with light brushing) and then pressed it down again. For blankets with fewer colors, such as two colors, we can create a thicker look by weaving both the warp and weft with wool, but on the other hand, it is a fabric that requires a lot of effort to express a large number of colors and complex patterns.

This time, we used this special fabric and tailored a blanket gown made in the 20s and 30s with an altered front button. The large shawl collar has been left intact, and the unique patch pockets have been recreated. The edges of the fabric have been finished with piping tape to add a sense of luxury and design.

The buttons that fasten the front are made of buffalo toggles. This is a piece that you should wear over denim or leather.
