Our collection theme for the season is "THE CREAM OF THE CACHE." While this is a coined phrase, it signifies our "absolute finest selection." For this lineup, we spent an entire year carefully selecting and meticulously recreating the absolute greatest vintage pieces extracted straight from JELADO’s private archives. As one of the major highlights of this collection, we introduce a standout garment based on the highly coveted M-43 HBT shirt, beautifully reconstructed using our 10.5-ounce LAST RESORT Ao-Tag (Blue Tag) denim. The M-43 pattern was originally developed and officially adopted in 1941 at the urgent request of President Roosevelt, born out of a strategic need to completely modernize the military's image and boost recruitment among young men. Because older uniform styles were widely criticized for low quality and poor comfort, the military integrated the rugged Herringbone Twill (HBT) fabric that had been successfully utilized by the Air Corps since 1939.

While this new uniform style was initially intended for training and fatigue duties, it was later adopted as standard combat attire for tropical climates. Thanks to its incredible utility and outstanding reputation, production continued throughout the war with minor spec changes and expanded sizing variations. Most notably, in 1943, as the US military prepared for the D-Day landings in Normandy and factored in the potential threat of chemical warfare, they finalized and produced the specialized "D-Spec" configuration officially designated as the M-43. For our version, rather than using standard 13-star hardware, we equipped the garment with custom iron laurel leaf buttons featuring authentic dome-shaped shanks to heavily emphasize the vintage character. Furthermore, by intentionally omitting the bulky interior gas flap, we ensured that the shirt retains a clean, beautifully cohesive silhouette even when worn open.

The Blue Tag denim utilized for this piece is intricately woven with three distinct thread weights in the warp, offering a highly unique textile profile that yields beautiful, irregular vertical fading lines. Because the weft features a light-gray sulfur-dyed yarn, the fabric exudes a grounded, deeply classic atmosphere. Moving away from the notorious stiffness of period-correct military utility denim, we heavily prioritized exceptional next-to-skin comfort for this release - delivering a highly functional, easy-moving garment that transforms uniquely as it ages over time.
