This time, we are releasing the CIGGY SHIRTS, which are based on a long-desired item that Goto has wanted to create for many years.
To make this, we started by focusing on the material and spent a lot of time developing the best twisted yarn chambray.
We meticulously reproduced the fabric characteristics of vintage "BIG YANK" shirts made from the 1930s to 1940s that JELADO collects, such as thread count, density, slub yarn shape, and twist condition (the warp threads are plied with two different counts), and developed a supreme chambray fabric.
Since it is dyed with sulfur dyes, you can enjoy the unique aging process characteristic of vintage items.
Initially, we repeatedly compared beaker samples and checked the colors to reproduce black chambray, but by chance, the dye shifted too much to red, resulting in a grayish-brown beaker. This color was a wonderful color we had never seen before, so we decided to develop this color. It was an accidental creation, but the best twisted yarn chambray was completed.
Of course, since a power loom is used, you can feel the texture of the 1930s to 1940s.
The color and thread atmosphere are irresistible for those who prefer twisted yarn chambray.
The design features a half-zip pullover that is difficult to obtain nowadays, separated cuffs characteristic of "BIG YANK," and a short chin strap called a "choco chin" on the collar.
By sewing with fine stitching, the threads tighten when washed, allowing you to enjoy a nice puckering effect. This, combined with the texture of the chambray fabric, creates a unique vintage feel.
