JELADO Champs Sweatshirt Salt & Pepper [AB82251S]

Based on 1940s freedom sleeve sweatshirts, it retains a vintage feel while being tailored to a modern fit.

The body is knitted in a tubular style (without side seams) using an old-fashioned Azuma knitting machine. The Azuma knitting machine is an old type of knitting machine that produces a loopwheeled fabric characterized by a vintage texture and lightness. This knitting machine is one of those from the 1970s, when knitting machines transitioned from loopwheeled machines to innovative knitting machines, and it is a rare machine with few existing models.

Because it knits slowly, daily production is low, allowing for a texture similar to a loopwheeled machine, characterized by an uneven surface and a soft feel.
Regarding the napping, if the fabric is open-width, napping can be done in one process, but for tubular napping, the tube is flattened and napped on four sides, requiring four times the effort for a full circle.

It is finished with pre-napping, where the napping is done before dyeing.

Following vintage sewing, it is mostly done with double-needle stitching, but the cuffs have circular knit ribs, and the cuff ribs are attached in one continuous process directly from the double-needle stitching of the underarm seam.
We have recreated a piece that faithfully reproduces the sewing of that era, making it difficult to obtain such a vintage item today.
