JELADO Champs Sweatshirt 2-Tone [AB01224]

Based on our vintage samples, we have developed a new color scheme for our vintage-style two-tone sweatshirts. This time, we created two versions: one with a pink base and smoke black accents, and another with the colors inverted. This color scheme, inspired by the popular pink and black combination of the 1950s, is applied to the sweatshirt, which is highly valued for its vintage appeal. We use an old-fashioned Azuma knitting machine to knit the fabric in a cylindrical shape (without side seams). This knitting machine produces a soft, stretchy fabric with an unprecedentedly fluffy feel. The Azuma knitting machine is rare and used to create loopwheel fabric with a vintage texture and lightness. It emerged around the 1970s during the transition from loopwheel knitting machines to innovative knitting machines, and its slow knitting speed means there are only a limited number of these machines available. As a result, you can enjoy a fabric with a textured surface and fluffy feel that is similar to loopwheeled fabrics. Regarding the napping process, regular napping is done in one flat pass, but for circular napping, the circular fabric is matched to a flat surface, and napping is done on four sides, requiring one full rotation. This means it takes four times more effort than regular napping. By napping before dyeing, the unique texture is enhanced. The sewing is almost entirely done with double needles, and the cuffs are circular knit ribs, which are attached in one continuous process from the double-needle stitching of the underarms. We have faithfully reproduced vintage sewing methods to recreate a vintage sweatshirt that is otherwise hard to find. This sweatshirt allows you to enjoy the texture and details of that era.
