CHAMPS, which has been well-received with every release, will be released in three colors: the new color NASU-KON (navy), the previously popular MINT, and Salt & Pepper. The new color NASU-KON is inspired by the faded navy color of vintage items still in existence today. MINT is a reproduction of the original vintage item owned. Salt & Pepper uses the classic twisted heathered pattern.
The design is based on the Freedom Sleeve Sweatshirt from the 40s, and incorporates a modern fit while retaining the vintage feel. The body is knitted on an old-fashioned Azuma knitting machine with a circular body. This knitting machine dates back to the 1970s, when the transition from loopwheel knitting machines to innovative knitting machines occurred, and it features a textured fleece lining. The nap is brushed using the usual process.
In addition, the fabric is brushed on four sides to improve the texture. The fabric is brushed before dyeing. The stitching is faithful to the vintage style, and almost all of the stitching is done with twin needles. The cuffs are finished with a circular knit rib, and the rib is made as a single piece from the underarm stitching.This has resulted in a piece that is full of vintage feel..
