CHAMPS is also releasing a new 2-tone model. This time, the new colorway is Nasu-Kon (Navy) and Salt & Pepper, along with the previously popular Mint and Salt & Pepper colorways. The colorway is based on the design of a vintage sweatshirt from the 40s, exuding a nostalgic vintage feel. These two patterns are based on the Freedom Sleeve sweatshirt from the 2s, retaining its vintage charm while being tailored for a modern fit. The body is knitted on an old-fashioned Azuma knitting machine with a circular bore. This machine dates back to the transitional period from loopwheel knitting machines to more advanced knitting machines in the 40s, and features a textured fleece lining. The brushing process is also more time-consuming, as it involves four-sided brushing in addition to the standard circular brushing, but it also enhances the texture of the material. Furthermore, the fabric is brushed before dyeing, further enhancing the texture. The stitching is also faithful to the vintage look, with almost all stitching performed with twin needles. The cuffs are finished with a circular knit rib, which is attached directly to the underarm seam. By recreating the stitching of the time, this piece is full of vintage feel.
