JELADO Brutal Fleece [AB13213]

The 2025 collection theme, "THE CREAM OF THE CACHE," signifies "the finest collection" and is a project where JELADO meticulously recreates its cherished vintage items in the best possible way. This release is the ultimate sweatshirt, named "BRUTAL FLEECE," envisioned with a tough construction capable of withstanding rigorous training.

We custom-knit a 1940s two-V mottled gray sweatshirt and sewed it using vintage sewing machines. This piece was thoroughly crafted with the cooperation of the dedicated brand "REBUILT." For the fabric, we used 20-count top yarn for the face, 40-count natural yarn for the middle, and 8-count natural yarn for the back, reproducing the deep mottled gray of vintage pieces. The natural yarn in the middle was adjusted to subtly show through to the front, creating the natural mottled appearance unique to top yarn. Finished with the fluffy texture characteristic of loopwheel machines, any stretching or sagging after wear can be restored through washing.
For sewing, we painstakingly focused on every detail using vintage sewing machines from that era. A SINGER 105-4 (double chain stitch machine) was used to join the fabric and cut it to an appropriate length, with the back covered by a double needle. The seams are visible on the front, and when turned inside out, the outer fabric peeks through the seams, creating a unique specification. The cuff ribs were also sewn with this machine, adopting a run-off chain finish for strength. With less thread, it ensures elasticity without the seams becoming too rigid.
Furthermore, a UNION SPECIAL 11900 was used to finish by pressing down the cross-section after sewing, preventing seam puckering or waving with appropriate stitch length. For the collar binder, a UNION SPECIAL 52800 was used, sewing it from the back to position a thick silk thread on the front. This enhances elasticity and strength while preventing thread breakage.
