The 2025 collection theme, "THE CREAM OF THE CACHE," means "the finest collection," and is a project to recreate JELADO's treasured vintage items in the best possible form. The latest release is the ultimate sweatshirt, named "BRUTAL FLEECE," inspired by its tough construction that can withstand even the most rigorous training.
Originally knitted with a 40s double V heather grey sweatshirt, using a vintage sewing machine.
This garment was meticulously crafted with the cooperation of the discerning brand "REBUILT." The fabric uses #20 top yarn for the face, #40 off-white yarn for the middle, and #8 off-white yarn for the back, recreating a deep vintage-inspired heathered gray. The off-white of the middle yarn is subtly adjusted to show through on the surface, creating a natural heathered look that only top yarn can provide. Finished with a fluffy texture unique to loopwheel knitting, it can recover from stretching and sagging after wear with washing.
The stitching was done using the same vintage sewing machine as back then, with meticulous attention to detail. The fabric was sewn together using a SINGER 105-4 (double chain stitch sewing machine), cut to the appropriate length, and the back was covered with a twin needle. The stitching is visible on the front side, and when turned inside out,
This unique design allows the outer fabric to peek through the seams. The cuff ribbing is also sewn with this machine, and a hollow loop finish is used for strength. The low amount of thread used ensures stretch without making the seams too stiff.
Furthermore, UNION SPECIAL 11900 is used to press down the seams and finish the garment, with a moderate stitch count to prevent the seams from bunching or rippling. The collar binder uses UNION SPECIAL 52800, sewn in from the inside to allow thicker silk thread to be placed on the outside. This prevents thread breakage while improving elasticity and strength. This is the ultimate vintage sweatshirt, meticulously crafted from the finest materials, including the texture of the fabric, sewing techniques, and even the selection of sewing machines.
