We have launched a story collection with the theme "PIRATE OF BLUE DYE ~ Pirates of the Indigo Dye."
This is a collection where products are developed in conjunction with JELADO's original story.
Following the previous story, the setting is New York. Dien and his companions encounter the phantom pirate ship Flying Dutchman and are pulled inside.
This collection features designs by Dien, inspired by the various clothes left behind inside the ship, using indigo materials.
The design was patented in the late 1800s.
It features distinctive pockets, which we have named "keel pockets" (referring to the backbone of a ship's bottom).
"BUCCANEER" refers to a pirate, and this is Dien's design, who was known as the pirate of blue dye.
The fabric used is 100% cotton custom-ordered indigo Wabash stripe fabric.
It's a sturdy, stiff fabric with a 7x7 count, woven with rope-dyed yarns for both warp and weft.
Because of the rope dyeing, the core of the yarn remains white, allowing for excellent aging effects from rubbing and wrinkles due to wear.
The Wabash stripe is printed using pigment discharge dyeing, so like indigo fabric, it will undergo age-related changes such as color fading.
The buttons are metal with a blue rust finish.
The pockets are reinforced not with rivets, but with random stitching from folding.
The buckle-back is also a "差し" (insert) type, similar to vintage styles.
There are pleats in the back, so even if you wear it in your exact size, there's a little room, making it comfortable to wear.
The silhouette is not too slim, with a moderate amount of room around the arms, resulting in a comfortable and well-shaped G-jean type.
This versatile item can be styled for a wide range of uses, from workwear to basic American casual.
