We deconstructed unused deadstock denim from the 1950s and had it analysed by a testing institute here in Japan. Everything from cotton fibre length to yarn twist count and yarn count was measured, and we developed our own yarn from those figures. The result is the black version of LAST RESORT DENIM (White Tag). For this release we referenced the colour of the yarn-dyed black denim that existed in the 1990s, woven the fabric to the same yarn quality as our XX model, and present it as "Age of Longing 301XX". The warp uses sulphur-dyed black yarn, while the weft uses ecru yarn at the same weave density as the White Tag, giving the colour and hand of a genuine vintage black denim. Stitch pitch and thread count follow the indigo model, and every sewing thread is black, so the construction matches the indigo version throughout.
Once the garment was finished, we treated it to give the grey-faded look of well-worn vintage black denim.
A stone-bio wash recreates the same atmosphere as a genuinely faded vintage piece.
