This piece serves as a dedicated tribute to "SPROUT," the vintage clothing boutique I founded over 20 years ago that marks the genesis of my journey. To open that shop, I scrimped and saved every penny before flying to America, slowly gathering unique pieces to build up my opening inventory. Among those early discoveries, I sourced a rare, mint-condition vintage Lee "House Mark" jacket that fit me perfectly. Drawing directly from that cherished archival piece, we analyzed the textile data from the ground up to develop our 10.5-ounce light-ounce LAST RESORT denim. This specialized fabric incorporates an extraordinary level of structural engineering never seen in standard lightweight utility denim, complemented by an equally uncompromising array of custom-developed hardware components.

To fulfill these strict historical requirements, we custom-manufactured every metallic element from scratch, including the oversized swivel main front buttons, the scaled-down swivel cuff buttons, and the unique snap closures securing the breast pockets. Our reference artifact represents a legendary Lee chore coat adorned with the iconic "House Mark" label, historically produced between 1938 and 1946. While labels from this era can be difficult to date precisely, this specific generation is defined by the inclusion of a "SANFORIZED" designation and the characteristic uppercase "Lee" branding featuring a subtly upturned, slanted "e." True to genuine period-correct manufacturing, the sewing construction is executed by meticulously alternating between gray and white threads, imparting a grounded, deeply authentic vintage character.

We also carefully duplicated the exact visual profile of the front utility patch pockets, mirroring Lee's signature construction quirk where the bottom center of the pocket fabric is slightly bunched while the stitching line is executed straight across. As you regularly wear and wash this garment, the multi-dimensional character of the slub yarn - intricately woven using three distinct warp thread weights - steadily emerges on the surface, allowing you to enjoy a highly unique, irregular vertical fading profile over time. Representing the absolute apex of traditional heritage clothing, we invite you to experience this masterpiece of historic workwear.
