We've recreated these wartime overalls using a light-weight 10.5 oz denim called "LASTRESORT Blue Tag," a material we've developed with great effort. This denim was created by disassembling a 1940s Lee coverall, analyzing the threads, and referencing the fading of vintage items still in use today. We aimed for a similar vertical fading effect. We've also recreated all the accessories that came with deadstock wartime Housemark overalls, meticulously recreating every detail, from the name tag to the flasher. Instead of the usual paper flasher, we've made this out of nonwoven fabric, a material that will withstand washing. The union ticket sewn into the pocket is also sewn in with a single stroke. The shoulder strap adjusters, shoulder strap fastening buttons, and waist buttons are all realistically recreated with laurel-studded iron buttons. The snap buttons for the bib pockets are also made of iron, specifically for this model. The stitching is done in black and white, with the front extensions, shoulder straps, and hem all sewn in black, giving the impression of more subdued, adult workwear than if the pants were all white. The silhouette is slightly wider, allowing for a slightly looser fit for workwear. As you wear them, the uneven threads of the three different thicknesses will each appear, creating a random vertical fading effect that you can enjoy.
