LASTRESORT has developed a 10.5 oz. light-weight denim called "Blue Tag" to faithfully recreate 1940s painter pants. Based on the off-white coveralls commonly used in workwear at the time, this denim captures the unique texture of the Blue Tag. This denim was developed by dismantling a 1940s Lee coverall, analyzing the threads, and thoroughly studying the distinctive vintage color fading and texture. The result is a fabric that recreates the natural vertical fading of denim from that era. Using this special fabric, we have brought back the house-marked 1940s painter pants for the modern era. The signature Lee work pants design, with a slightly loose pocket at the bottom center and streamlined stitching, remain intact. The warp threads are randomly woven with three different counts of uneven yarn, creating a richer texture with wear. A union ticket is sewn into the back of the right back pocket, and no compromises have been made on the finer details. Furthermore, the front buttons feature domed feet that enhance the vintage look, creating an authentic feel.
