We have developed a 10.5-ounce light-ounce denim named LAST RESORT Ao-Tag (Blue Tag) to faithfully reproduce a pair of classic 1940s painter pants. To create this denim, we completely disassembled a vintage 1940s Lee chore coat, analyzing the yarns and thoroughly researching its signature color-fading characteristics. Through this process, we successfully developed a textile that delivers that exact same high-contrast vertical fading profile. Utilizing this unique fabric, we resurrected a legendary 1940s "House Mark" style painter pants design.

We carefully captured an authentic mid-century atmosphere by mirroring the distinctive pocket construction signature to Lee work pants, where the fabric at the center-bottom of the pocket is slightly bunched while the stitching remains executed in a straight line.

For the warp, we wove slub yarns using three distinct thread weights, allowing you to enjoy the same random, irregular vertical fading lines seen on historical originals. The weft features a light-gray sulfur dye, yielding a much richer, deeper shade of blue than standard light-ounce denim and displaying a uniquely rewarding color transformation over time. Furthermore, we demonstrated our uncompromising commitment to structural details by sewing a hidden vintage-style Union Ticket inside the rear right pocket.

The front buttons are equipped with authentic dome-shaped shanks to further elevate the vintage character of the garment. From the textile and hardware to the sewing techniques, we invite you to experience the absolute apex of workwear craftsmanship.
