JELADO 24/7 Leather Sports Jacket [AG72417]

This is the 24/7 (Twenty-Four Seven) from the BASIC COLLECTION.
It's a 1930s style sports jacket by JELADO, named with the idea that we want you to wear it out tirelessly, like a convenience store that's open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The design is based on vintage pieces from minor brands with interesting details. It uses approximately 1.6mm thick horsehide, which has been combination-tanned (chrome x tannin). After chrome tanning, the solution is washed away and then tanned again with tannin to bring out the best qualities of the tannin, creating a leather with a suitable thickness and character that improves with wear. The base is dyed a light brown, then a black topcoat is applied by hand-dyeing at a long-established finishing factory in Tokyo. This creates a "tea-core" leather. To achieve a stronger black, we used a semi-aniline finish with a 50/50 mixture of pigment and dye. After dyeing, the leather is "empty-struck" to bring out its natural texture. The dye, which colors the base, and the pigment, which forms a film on top, create a good match, resulting in excellent aging. It has the softness of leather that 100% pigment cannot provide, and because the film is thin, the base color quickly appears with wear.
To make it easy to wear, the lining is not quilted but made of black cupro, making it a leather jacket that can be worn even in spring.
