HUBBELL returns with a new color for the first time in several years. This item is a CHIMAYO COAT that recreates the two-tone design of the 1940s, featuring a user-friendly design with an Italian collar and a half-length cut. It pairs exceptionally well with denim, making it an easy addition to any styling.
This iteration of HUBBELL is a special model featuring custom silver conchos made by FIRSTARROWS. These silver conchos are designed based on the stamp work created by Native Americans in the 1930s and 40s. They incorporate the Thunderbird motif from JELADO's Laguna series, combined with FIRSTARROWS' iconic arrow and the brand's trademark sun, resulting in a meticulously crafted piece. The finish perfectly matches the vintage feel and historical context of the Hubbell coat.
The silver conchos are rough-polished after stamping the patterns to replicate the vintage-specific tarnishing and unique dull luster. Additionally, a tumbling process with steel balls is applied to achieve a three-dimensional and profound finish. While perfectly suited for the Hubbell coat, these conchos also feature a versatile design that can be matched with other items.
Production is carried out consistently in the Bishu mountainous region. The fabric is woven with a blend of 79% wool, 12% cotton, and 9% nylon, using 30/2 (two 30-count cotton yarns twisted together) for the warp and 2/7 (two 7-count yarns twisted together) of 90% wool and 10% nylon for the weft. Due to the multitude of pattern parts, each pattern is woven on a separate roll of fabric and then combined to create the final product. In the fabric finishing process, a tweed finish is adopted, where the fabric is not kneaded or shrunk. By washing, a vintage finish is achieved, creating a "degreased" look as if it has aged over years. As a result, the garment already offers a worn-in vintage feel from the moment it is made.
The dimensions have been revised from previous releases, updating the overall sizing to be larger. It is designed to be worn over denim jackets or leather jackets, making it a noteworthy piece in JELADO's new Native pattern collection.
