Hobo is a term used to describe the nomadic workers who appeared in America in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, traveling along railroad tracks in search of work. Their attitude of not settling down and traveling with only the bare necessities on their backs eventually came to be seen as a symbol of freedom and independence, and had a profound influence on American culture and fashion.
The "Loom Hobo" is reconstructed into a bag shape using fabric from past JELADO items. It was produced in limited quantities using fabric left over from the release of a striped blanket jacket with a chin strap, a work jacket type made by BLACKBEAR in the 1930s. The thick blanket, woven in the woolen textile producing region of Bishu, matches the rounded silhouette of the Hobo Bag to create a stylish finish.
The bag uses the pattern of TK GARMENT SUPPY's signature bag, and the buttons are made in the USA with German silver conchos. The handles and bottom are made of highly grained deer leather, giving the bag a striking presence.
A crystallization of practicality and beauty born from people's daily lives against the backdrop of difficult times such as the Great Depression and wartime.
The designs are characterized by geometric patterns and unique colors made from reused feed sacks, and are strongly imbued with the spirit and craftsmanship of American folk art.
