The 2 Monkeys Classic Henley Shirt [TM12244]

The Classic Henley Shirt was inspired by a repaired vintage Henley neck undershirt from the 1920s to 30s.

The buttons on the vintage item were mismatched, perhaps replaced, and we have incorporated that detail by using three different colored buttons.

The "Henley" in Henley shirt does not refer to the personal name "Henry," but to "Henley" from the town of "Henley-on-Thames," located about 60 km west of London.

It seems that the knitted collarless polo-type short-sleeved T-shirt worn by rowers since the late 19th century at the Royal Regatta, a rowing competition held there since 1839, came to be called the "Henley shirt."
