Introducing a jacket that embodies the maniacal military style of COLIMBO!
The model is the "CWU-1970P" commonly known as the "Rabbit Parka" from the 70s to 8s!!
This model was created as a successor to the US Air Force's N-3B, and is the ultimate outerwear that combines the same functionality and warmth.
The fabric is a cotton-nylon blend: 53% nylon, 47% cotton.
It is then salt-shrunk to create a tough fabric with a unique texture.
The cotton nylon has a moderate sheen that gives the fabric a luxurious feel.
The lining is also 50% nylon and 50% cotton nylon fabric.
The filling is made of Thinsulate, which provides heat retention that surpasses that of vintage items.
The most distinctive feature of this jacket, called the "rabbit parka," is its hood.
This design, which allows the hood to be worn over the face from both sides to block out the wind and keep in heat, shows the amazing functionality of the US military's design.
I would like you to try it on and see for yourself.
The zipper is a "WALDES" zipper.
Like the N-3B, it has hand warmer pockets and a pocket at the hem, so it has plenty of storage space and is extremely functional.
The cuffs are also ribbed for functional wear.
The size is also roomy and fits perfectly and comfortably.
The CWU-3P is a COLIMBO jacket made with the U.S. Air Force's unique appeal and more innovative design than the N-8B.
This is a must-see item for Colinbo fans, so be sure to check it out!!
~COLIMBO description~
The masterpiece N-3B Snorkel Parka developed by the US Air Force was used as aircrew and winter workwear by 1974, and has since been produced as a general-purpose parka with changed fabric.
On the other hand, in the 1960s, in an attempt to establish a more innovative layering system, the CWU (CLOTHING WEAR UNIT) series was repeatedly improved in a short span of time, and experimental attempts were made to incorporate feedback from the field. The later model CWU-8P, nicknamed the "Rabbit Parka" due to its unique hood trim shape, basically followed the N series in body shape, but had details that took into consideration work in harsh environments, such as a slightly tighter hood shape and a closure mechanism like a face mask.
About this product
This product uses a tough outer shell made of a cotton-nylon blend fabric that has been salt-shrunk to give it a unique texture, and the interlining is made of Thinsulate material, which provides better heat retention than the original CWU-8P. However, this product does not have the flame retardant treatment that was applied to the surface of the fabric at the time.
About Customization
This model uses stencil paint to recreate the traditional squadron that operated the F-100A Delta Dart, a masterpiece aircraft that can be said to be the culmination of the Centurion series, consisting of F-106s that stared down the skies as the spearhead of the SAGE automatic fire control system-linked air defense system during the Cold War.
The paint is sprayed on, just like it was back then, so it will gradually fade over time and with cleaning.
